The ARROW team recently attended the Texas Association of Home Care & Hospice (TAHC&H) Winter Educational Conference in Dallas. Highlights included strategies for adding Private Duty to already established Medicare/Medicaid recipient agencies, therapy payment reforms, facts and fiction around the Face-to-Face requirement, the Partnership for Patients in Texas program, how-to’s with the Star Plus program and a whole lot more. Many are aware that the sheer size of home care in Texas – it’s about triple that of any other state (besides New York) in terms of total dollars and workforce – and it continued to grow in 2011 at a clip of 8.1%, with a total of 4,781 HCCSA parent licenses. Licensed Home Health grew 6% to 3,366 licenses, and Personal Assistance Services (PAS) agencies grew even faster at 10.5% with a total of 3,011 licenses!
